When Bezos created a whole new Industry while improving their warehouses.

A thread...
Jeff Bezos is a technology centric founder who always focused on improving their packaging and shipping procedure.
In 2012, Kiva Systems, a Massachusetts-based company launched a robot product. These robots could navigate a whole warehouse faster than humans without crashing into each other.
The same year, in an effort to make their distribution centers (DCs) as efficient as possible, Bezos bought the Kiva Systems for $775 million and almost immediately took them in-house.
When Amazon devoured Kiva, a bunch of other startups bubbled up in response. And that was the birth of warehouse robotics industry.
