Wan-Bissaka his main strengths are in the defending aspect of the game. He’s not the best at going forward as a fullback.

Clinton Mata is, or was a right back. His main strengths are tackling and pace, just like AWB. He isn’t the best at going forward, but as a modern fullback, you need to do it.
In the season 2014-2015, Clinton Mata left Charleroi for a bigger club, KRC Genk. It wasn’t a great success. He even got loaned out to Charleroi again 3 years later. After the loan, he left for Club Brugge.
Club Brugge plays in a 3 at the back system. Mostly 3-5-2, sometimes 3-4-3. Mata is used most of the times as a right mid or right wing back. He needs to go forward a lot, but as you can see, he is, or wasn’t the best.
Ivan Leko, our coach in the meantime, tried Clinton Mata as a right centre back in a 3 at the back.
Conclusion: This guy is defending-wise the best defender in Belgium. No doubts about that.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Clinton Mata both have an almost identical playstyle.
They both have an exceptional way of tackling. They are fast. They aren’t the best at going forward and were misused for years.

I’m sure if Man United changed to a 3 at the back formation, AWB would become a top 3 player at the club.
He has immense defensive qualities, which he will have to use more as a RCB than as a RB.

This thread might sound stupid as hell, but if you actually go watch some clips of the two players, you’ll recognize that they are almost the same.
I’m sure that most of the people who are PL fans, etc,.. don’t know who Clinton Mata is.
