Is reading social media making you feel that bit irrated, cross with things, a bit indignant about topics, mildly angry about the words of others, like you are in a group pitted against another?

If you are you are likely hooked - that feeling is one of the most addicting /1
and will keep you coming back for more of that 'angst' time and again. The more media you consume the deeper the hooks go - just like any addiction.

What can you do?.... /2
(1) The simplest is to walk away for a time, whilst the pandemic might make it feel difficult perhaps consider it. (2) Be mindful of what content you consume and why. Curate who & what you 'follow', does their content truly give you what you wanted /3
(3) remember that you can tailor your device to reduce access - set up times when browsers, sites, apps won't work. (4) consider removing apps from mobile devices so that things aren't easily accessed 'instantly' in triggered moments. /4
(5) when looking through content that creates that feeling try to appreciate where those differences might have come from. Hard as it might seem try to cultivate an open enquiring approach.

Finally, simply try to be kind to yourself in all things.
