The thing that really bothers me is that had rafa lost, the media/journos/fans would drag and troll him for eternity and question his legacy. Write more & #39;he doesn& #39;t have what it takes anymore& #39; articles. This expectation that he has to win every single match on clay is crazy
Majority of people consider this win as #20. For me it was the fight & endurance he showed. Even before the start, everything was against him & his game.
Had he lost, his exemplary & #39;just have to accept& #39; attitude & the fight he showed every match is worth so much more than a number
This slam race and goa* debate is the worst thing in this sport. The way the media constantly panders to it and always make every thing about it is pathetic. A gs win is glorified to the highest extreme and a loss (esp for raf) & #39;taints his legacy& #39;. This must stop.
We must not take him & the things he has done/continues to do for granted. He is human. The most human in fact when it comes to empathy, sensitivity, feeling anxious, unable to calm his mind. I& #39;m still at loss of words on how he was able to overcome the noise, one match at a time
