Stephan Robert lays on his granny grave, his face full of gloom and stern position suddenly he utters ‘’ What thing can be a cure for your mental disability else death. ’He smiles just like beguiles his fate and drowns in memory.
Stephan and his younger bro ‘’ John Robert’’ lived in a small yet beautiful cottage with his grandmother ‘’Lavinia Gorge’ ’Lavinia was harsh by tongue and a little bit bitter by heart.
She worked in a saloon and earned some money for living needs and some much hated for John, maybe due to his black color or his wide nose. John was six years old with black color but a sympathetic heart and was called by his granny ‘’black yahoo’’ greatly loved by his elder bro.
Stephan is the foil of John about color and was highly loved by his granny.
Though Stephan and John both of them were grandchildren of Lavinia, he could not recognize the same love for them, granny did not forget John's color which remembered her, his mother ‘’Ewuifi’’.One day, Lavinia came Back from her dusty, rough, stuffy work, when he entered the…

She pushed her head on the armchair and redo the love story of her son John with Ewuifi, she says:

Stephan, you could not understand how would I bear that boy with his black color, I felt more disgust for him than his mother. If he is not the blood of my son, I swear I’ll kill him due to his color’’.
Stephan and John both of them were so blasé because of the story which was repeated almost twenty-five times.
Though John keeps quiet at last, Stephan told his granny ‘’Please stop these all foolish stories about your son's fault, both of us belonged to your son no matter what color we have. ’Stephan has gone into the kitchen and made some noodles.
John laughed in a style of Stephan he said, Bro how can you rejoice in a bad time when granny is in a bad mood.
He replied Johnny people cannot understand the silence; they just want words that give them delicateness or sorrows, so my little Johnny doesn’t worry about granny harshness avoid it.
Stephan understands that granny disgust Johnny not only for his mother yet for his physical appearance which shows resemblance to his mother. Little John cannot recognize that why can granny disgust him, not Stephan?
Many times, he thinks that he does so many faults so granny hates me, he ignores the more speaking word of granny ‘’Black’ ’The reason is that ‘’though Johnny color black but his heart white’’ he knows not about hypocrisy and controversy about colors.
One day Stephen has done his school work and is a little bit busy with a science project. He works with a mirror or some brass, Johnny comes and has a hold mirror, oh Stephan came here both of us seen mirror.
Firstly, Stephan rejected but when John contumacy then he agreed, both of them made funny poses and looked in the mirror. A sudden realization of truth occurs and Johnny comes to know the difference between the black and the white.
He snatched the mirror by Stephan’s hand and brooked it angrily.
Stephan understood what happened but he cannot do anything, how could he have released John from this situation. Though he was just thirteen years old, his mind seems mature. He came into the room and saw that Johnny was standing in front of the window of the cottage.
Stephan stills in his place, Johnny moves forward and tells Stephan’’ please Stephan go away with your divine image which is the only white’ ’Stephan was shocked that he has no words, although he considered himself a master of words.
He has hugged Johnny and tells him ‘’ Little Johnny always remembered my one thing, I’m with you, I’ll be harmed and ruined that thing which depressed and destroyed you.
Our granny is a white lady with a dirty black heart but Johnny you are part of my soul because I remembered you are my bro.’’
These all words listened by granny he felt more and more disgust for John because her grandchild, Stephan became rebellious of her. She wants to kill John but does not recognize that both are her son’s sons.
After some days’ granny cooks some cookies when John comes into the kitchen and takes some cookies from the plate, granny burns his hand with a hot spoon. Little john shed tries and yields. When Stephan listens to the mourning sounds of Johnny he runs towards the kitchen.
He enters the kitchen and clasps the hand of Johnny and looks at granny angrily. Granny pushes John into the burner in a hysterical position, when Stephan sees Johnny burnt, he rashly pulls granny.
She falls and his head touches the burner corner, her blood not shed but she feels numbness. Granny surprisingly looks at Stephan and she sighs with a loud voice; curse, a curse came by my white lamb’’ and dies.
Stephan looked at granny and he came to know his father’s mother was killed by his hand.
But he runs towards Johnny who burns so much but he is alive; Stephan takes Johnny in his lop and tells him that ‘’ my little Johnny now no white skin lady harms you like that I became the curse for my granny to secure a white heart, because of you’’.
After some days Johnny is cured by some medical courses and both brothers are living happily by soul but face many financial difficulties.
Stephan almost came to his granny grave and remembered how he gave a death gift to his granny. ‘’He cannot understand his act is wrong or right but he feels not all white faces have a black heart, nor all black skin have white hearts’’.
