Excuse me, please: Has the @nassnigeria leadership ask both Senate and Reps Committees on Security to set up ASAP a Joint Public (televised) Enquiry sittings for at least the past 3 Police IGs, DIGs, HM Police Affairs and the current ones, etc. to drill into #SARS etc affairs?

Oh...and all the former @PoliceNG chiefs should attend the Public Inquiry sittings dressed in the uniforms of their last ranks or position. @NGRSenate @SPNigeria @femigbaja @DrAhmadLawan

This is a matter of national (in)security:
-What happens to @PoliceNG budgets & sundry funding?
-How was #SARS funded, kitted, trained, supervised, disciplined - the INTERNAL AFFAIRS must be publicly disclosed at the @nass Inquiry
-WHO does WHAT within the Police/SARS hierarchy?

-What happens to @PoliceNG Pensions???
-- @nassnigeria must insist on Quarterly Public National Assembly Briefings by ALL top hierarchy of the @PoliceNG Police Ministry or Commission, Directors of Accounts, Pensions/Welfare, INTERNAL AFFAIRS Unit, etc.

The National Assembly or Parliament is the foundation of democracy from its very start. That's what's a "government of the people by the people" means. Not the Executive Branch. But if and when when a Legislature fails, then that democratic setting exists only by name.

Democracy is not necessarily about the party in power or office. Or necessarily about the President. It's first about the ELECTED REPS of the people.

Members of @nassnigeria are the INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS on the Board of Nigeria Incorporated. They must justify being there.

The Public Inquiry primary brief is about the conduct, allegations, etc against some #SARS operative across Nigeria.

Secondary brief: Recruitment, funding, infrastructure (equipment), salaries, promotions etc of both #SARS operatives and the regular men/women of @PoliceNG

Civil society groups should also attend the Public Inquiry, while tight Witness Protection programme shoukd be made by @NigeriaGov for serving or former #SARS operative that wants to testify publicly or under sealed deposition in camera.

The Legislatue or the National Assembly must realise that its main function is that of OVERSIGHT. That's a very weighty responsibility of which they asked the people to TRUST them via the ballot. They hold that position in a FIDUCIARY sense. @nassnigeria

As a journalist, I had expected the Leadership of the National Assembly @nassnigeria @senate and #Reps to lead this from the FRONT and not really the Executive. The @nassnigeria should be the Reps of the People putting the Executive under serious pressure. @femigbaja

By way: Where are the Leadership of the State House of Assemblies of @followlasg #OgunState #Anambra @oyostategovt and others??? Not a word yet from them.

Do they realise that they are the elected Reps of the People - young, old, living and the dead???
