#ReviveGurukul Here I am writing a thread on the importance of Reviving Gurukul system of education in India. I will explain the importance & impact it had put in our lives. Hope u read till the end. Here we go. (1/n)

#ReviveGurukul Gurukul is a place where shiksha is imparted into a child by their gurus. Parents leave their children at a tender age at the wisdom of Gurus who imparts Dharma in the child while they r busy in making worldly life better for themselves & next generation.(2/n)

#ReviveGurukul Today's kids face discrimination ri8 since they r born. A rich man's kids goes to International school, a middle class kid goes to Private English school while a poor kid goes to Muncipal school. This is exactly where discrimination starts.(3/n)

#ReviveGurukul When these kids meet up in college or job place in future part of life one section looks down upon other not understanding the problems faced by other & considers the weaker one as Backward minded.(4/n)

#ReviveGurukul In a Gurukul whether u r child of a king or child of a pauper every1 is treated equally. Every1 will wear same clothes, wash their own plates, sit on floor etc. No partial treatment. When a kid grows up in such atmosphere then he does not discriminates (5/n)

#ReviveGurukul on basis of caste, creed, race or financial status. He then distinguishes another kid on basis of merit & develops empathy & sympthy for his financial status. The kid also develops gratitude for wat he has & other does not have(6/n)

#ReviveGurukul Further most imp thing that people doubt is quality of education that Gurukul imparts which was asked to me by @IndicSeeker2020 . So let me tell u wat subjects are taught in Gurukul. In ancient times every Mandir was a Gurukul and place of knowledge. (7/n)

#ReviveGurukul Maths, Geography, Astronomy,Self defence, Agriculture were some subjects taught to kids. Later as their age progressed they were asked to take specific subject. Like a Kshatriya wud take up Warfare, a king's son wud choose Rajniti, Diplomacy, warfare etc (8/n)

#ReviveGurukul Those kids interested in business wud take up Arthshastra(economics), kids interested in farming wud take up agriculture as specialision subject. Infact the father of surgery was Sushrut maharishi who wrote a book known as Sushrut samhita (9/n)

#ReviveGurukul which was copied by British and claimed that they were the one who mastered surgery. The sushrut samhita clearly speaks of type of equipments to be used in a surgery. So the basic argument that Gurukula only produced Rishi munis who did tapasya in himalaya (10/n)

#ReviveGurukul stands redundant. Gurukul in ancient India profuced quality kings, doctors, engineers, doctors & most importantly good & dharmic citizens. (11/n)

#ReviveGurukul Gurukulas System was a highly decentralized system and students are encouraged on critical thinking - i would argue that this form of education to produce a highly competent student at the age of 16 to 18 (12/n)

#ReviveGurukul British found it very hard to push their agenda with a decentralized education system and wanted a centralized system - this is how they can bring up clerks and Yes masters to do mean jobs. (13/n)

#ReviveGurukul Gurukuls were funded by Maharaja’s, Temples and Mutts. They choked the source of the funding by taking over lands from the Maharaja’s and institutions. There are a lot of atrocious stories on how the british took over lands that were built for education (14/n)

#ReviveGurukul They created incentives for learning English, they even paraded people who passed English exam on elephant this creating excitement for English learning. They choked avenues of revenues for the educated and made english learning as the only source (15/n)

Even post independence Nehru made no efforts to #ReviveGurukul system and continued wid Bavarian system of education. Today India needs Indic based Education and has to overhaul the current system (16/n)
