I left journalism 8 months ago & am sad about the state of film & TV criticism. Most of the writers I commissioned for stories are freelancers struggling to get pitches accepted & struggling even harder to pay the bills.

Some of my fave stories I edited over the last 6 yrs https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="RĂŒckhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: RĂŒckhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
In 2017, I sat next to @Carlos_Film while we watched the & #39;Beatriz at Dinner& #39; premiere at @sundancefest. As soon as the movie was over, he went home and starting writing a powerful piece that we would publish a few months later for the theatrical release. https://remezcla.com/features/film/beatriz-at-dinner-salma-hayek-op-ed/">https://remezcla.com/features/...
In 2017, @bmanuel & I went to @CaboFilmFest & took advantage that Coco was in Mexican theaters (a month before the US) We saw the Spanish-language version &he wrote this lovely review: Why the Spanish Dub of Pixar’s ‘Coco’ Is Even Better Than the Original https://remezcla.com/features/film/spanish-dub-pixar-coco-dia-muertos/">https://remezcla.com/features/...
One of the most far-reaching stories that I came up with turned into a format that we repeated often.
