I usually don& #39;t do this but for the sake of actually having an informed electing body here we are.

1. Guns don& #39;t kill people, people kill people. The problem with so much of the concern, rule making and restrictions is that they are almost always aimed at law abiding gun owners.
Meanwhile the Justice Department confirms that legal guns are rarely the problem in gun crimes. 90% of guns used in crime are OBTAINED ILLEGALLY.
So whats your angle? criminal/gang gun violence? mass shooting events? Conflating these issues all under "guns are bad" is why the right calls you dumb. In the case of mass shootings The question that needs to be asked is what conditions were present around the individual that
led to the psychological/moral justification of committing harm against other humans with the use of a firearm. If someone wants to hurt people they will find a way with or without a gun, the gun is just a tool. So start at the individual not the gun.
In terms of the AR-15 which means ArmaLite Rifle not "assault rifle" --There& #39;s very distinct differences-- the vast majority of mass shooters use handguns, not assault rifles, in their attacks. (See article below) https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/local/wp/2016/06/16/why-banning-ar-15s-and-other-assault-weapons-wont-stop-mass-shootings/">https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/loca...
In the case of criminal gun violence the issue is pretty much stated above. The myth that criminals buy guns at gun stores and gun show loopholes is as stated, a myth. Less than 1% of crime guns are acquired at gun shows, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.
So ban them or not there will always be a means to obtain a gun.

In conclusion
2. The Second Amendment is pretty self explanatory. Elimination of guns is a palliative effort in stopping gun violence and realistically will never happen in the US without conflict or citizens utilizing the second amendment lol. Banning “Assault Weapons” by Executive Order is a
shot in the dark against the issue.

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

^ the founding fathers weren& #39;t idiots when they wrote this.
3. Have you ever gone through a gun safety course and or shot atleast a handgun in a safe setting? Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year or 6,849 every day. Most often, the gun is never fired and no blood (including the criminal’s) is shed.
After reading Joe Biden’s "amazing" plan to end gun violence it is perhaps the most radically anti-Second Amendment campaign on record. It perfectly panders to the uninformed. He also cites a rather shallow statistic to advocate for such: that 40,000 Americans
die from firearms-related injuries every year. This includes every firearms-related death -- suicides, accidental discharges, shootouts between gangs where no innocent bystander is killed, self-defense actions.
Don& #39;t get me wrong any death is certainly tragic, but this is simply not what anyone means when they talk about “gun violence.” The best lol was removing protections for Gun Manufacturers. "hold gun manufacturers accountable” for the use of their products.
This means that the families of shooting victims will be able to file civil suits against gun manufacturers to obtain damages related to the misuse of their products in crimes. Cause that totally makes sense? Like stated above "guns don& #39;t kill people, people kill people."
This is pretty unfair to the gun manufacturering industry whose economic value to our GDP is $60.02 Billion as of 2019.
When facing such liability, gun manufacturers will be flooded with frivolous lawsuits that will cause them to either go out of business or discontinue their civilian lines entirely. I think we can also all forsee the consequences of that legal logic.
So if I intentionally drive a car into an innocent bystander is it both me and the car manufacturer at fault? Better yet, if I stab someone with a kitchen knife is the knife manufacturer at fault too?
Trumps has a little more common sense than these blanket generalized stances on gun violence. Trump does not support bans on either high-capacity magazines or so-called assault weapons, and he advocates for national, 50-state concealed-carry rights.
His position is that gun bans do not work --which they dont-- and he points to large-scale gun violence in big cities with strict gun laws as proof. Instead he calls for the full enforcement of laws already on the books which makes sense based on the facts of the issues.
Just a few counter points, we can go further but this thread is long enough.
