i know that i have 0 followers on twitter and no one really cares about my opinion but it genuinely confuses me when people use the argument against universal healthcare that waiting times are ridiculously long in countries with it (1)
a couple weeks ago i went into the ER to get one test (an mri, and they also ended up doing an mra) because out of nowhere i started getting really bad headaches and passing out with no explanation (2)
i believe we went on a monday or tuesday so it wasn't busy at all when i went and i was the only person in the waiting room for the majority of my time there. i got there at about 9:30 am & i went to the children's hospital bc i was told it would be a shorter wait (3)
when i first got checked in the wait for all my processing/insurance info was super short & they did it right away and scheduled me for the mri at around 12 pm so i had to wait around 2.5 hours but that wasn't too bad. then it got pushed back to 1 pm. then 3 pm. (4)
i didnt get my MRI until about 5 pm. I WAITED 6.5 HOURS FOR ONE TEST IN A WAITING ROOM WITH NO ONE ELSE IN IT!!!!!!!!!! AND YALL WANT TO TALK ABOUT "countries with uhc wait way to long to get seen"!! this shit happens right here in america! wake tf up! (5)
end of thread but yeah i just saw a steven crowder video about canadian ERs and it reallllyyyy pissed me off because people act like this shit isn't happening in america. private healthcare is not all that and public healthcare isn't going to change the amount of time you wait!!
