The way Chris Carter throws Gillian Anderson under the bus here (and unfairly; she'd made it clear she wasn't coming back long before he alleges) to cover up for his incompetence, lack of talent/skill and utter destruction of his own legacy is absolutely breathtaking. https://twitter.com/DenofGeekUS/status/1317184441127751681
Chris Carter LITERALLY had FOUR TRIES to successfully and satisfyingly wrap up this series and HE FAILED EVERY SINGLE TIME! But yes, let's blame the actress who gave her life to this show for his staggering lack of talent.
I admire the way Gillian Anderson has stuck up for Chris Carter and expressed loyalty to him over the years, despite the fact that he's treated her character—and now, her—like absolute shit. But I wish she would now just let him have it.
She's too much of a dame, a classy lady and an absolute success to do so. But still.

Anyway, what a pathetic, sad little man Chris Carter is.

I can't think of ONE TV critic who has good things to say about his contributions to the XF revival, and I hope he cries about it.
Of course he doesn't, though, because he's a rich smug old man who can't fathom that HE might be in the wrong, that HE might be the hack with the problem. Oh no. And I blame FOX for enabling him well beyond when they should have.

OK, now I'm rambling but GOD IT MAKES ME SO MAD
Chris Carter secretly cries hot jealous tears over Vince Gilligan and his success every night, right before taking off his face to reveal where the wires are. The tears apparently short-circuited the talent part of his robot brain.
It! Is! Time! We! Stop! Enabling! Mediocre! Old! Men! Who! Are! Far! Past! Their! Prime!
Listen, I have long since tuned out this man. I've come to terms with the fact that he lost his talent, skill, etc. and could just live with the idea that he once had it and gifted us with what is my favorite show of all time.
But when he tries his to blame his incompetence on a woman who was actually responsible for much of his success? I WILL NOT LET THIS STAND. And I will scream about it on Twitter because what else can anyone do in this cursed year.
Oh and by the way, Mr. @DavidDuchovny, it wouldn't kill you to stand up for Gillian once in a while.
