Touche; although in fairness I think the reason I left chattel slavery and the laundering of wealth produced by such out, is because I've come to the conclusion that that colonialism and slavery are themselves, foundational factors of capitalism. Again, you have to understand that capitalism is not exchanging goods and services, or free access to the market - that's the fluff they sell you to justify the supreme rule of capital and markets, which is what capitalism actually is.
Folks can exchange goods and services, trade, even use money, without it being capitalism.

Capitalism is a new invention; it just happens to be the foundational invention for essentially the entire West - and that invention could not have existed without slavery and colonialism
It's an engine, for seizing control of the state, and indeed, eventually the world, to ensure the primacy and political authority of the merchant/investor class; a hostile takeover of government to ensure that it is always acting in support of that class.
Which is why, capitalism, when held up to the light, never survives the scrutiny of its own ideology - it's not about free markets, or access, or equality in the marketplace and everyone knows that; capitalism can't live up to its ideals and will not try to do so b/c they're PR.
It's about the rule of capital and primacy of the merchant/investor class - period. So if that means bailouts for rich people? That's what it means; fuck your free market and bullshit about Hayek.
Slavery and colonialism provided the impetuous for the merchant class to revolt against the sovereign; then the wealth from that expanded access fueled the takeover of the state by the merchant/investor/speculator class, which lead to more slavery and colonialism and more wealth
You can't have one without the other. Without the colonial project and chattel slavery, capitalism doesn't rise to essentially conquer the "known world" and the system itself does not function without someone to exploit ruthlessly - whether that's abroad, or at home.
