How did this fester? Bodies lining the river, parents searching for wards, siblings at the river bank. Sifting through swollen bodies. As you sort through, holding back the urge to vomit from the sight, one half of you prays that you don't find your missing one there.

You think, "God forbid my child dies such inhumane death". But it's been 15 years since SARS snatched him from you, so half of you hopes he is there so you can have closure and honour them with a burial. If they have suffered in life, their souls should not suffer in death.
Then he is there, he truly is. All gazillion thoughts run through your head, twice that amount flushes your mind as emotions. You're mad for a moment but it's too brief to notice, not even you realise that right at that moment, you have lost your mind and will never be sane.
They attempt to bring out his body and his limbs detach, water is a universal solvent. His cavity is filled with the sea sand. His skeleton has now surfaced, the only thing that has not given in to the decomposition of the water.
His mouth doesn't not have the white foam corpses have from struggling to breath under water. He didn't drown. He was killed. His body dumped into the river.
There is no closure you hoped for. The uncertainty of his being missing is replaced by the uncertainty of the million things that happened to him while alive and when dead in the water. No-one should have to go through this.

I'm sorry if this was a heavy read. It's a sober night. Very emotional. Justice must be gotten for these souls and it start with ensuring that this can no longer happen. #EndSARS
