JOSHU DEFENSE THREAD BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE DUMB

Okay first him being a dick to Josuke. Think about it, a naked mysterious man is near your crush. OF COURSE, YOU'D TRY TO GET THAT GUY AWAY.

And Joshu is right to be pissed. Josuke stole his room, his crush, they know little to nothing about him, he knocked him out

huh, a super charismatic guy comes into another character's home and starts stealing everything from them

And also, Joshu already considers Josuke family by chapter 20! Despite all his grievances Joshu never ratted him out to the old man during Shakedown Road and wasn't overly mean to him

Okay, now that scene with Kaato. People forget that Kaato is confirmed child murder. Of course, Joshu is not going to be welcoming

This is how Joshu deals with what he sees as a danger to his family; he tries to act as nasty as possible to drive them away

And the first scene with Yasuho WAS NOT RAPE. Let's go scene by scene

He thinks she's saying Joshu-Suki, not Josuke. And as well she's being way more affectionate to him than usual. He interprets this as a call because he's most likely on the spectrum (which I'll get to)

And then Yasuho says she's "sopping wet" and then says they need to go somewhere more private. I think ANYONE would take that in a sexually suggestive manner

And notice the moment he senses something is wrong, he immediately stops all contact

Then in the new chapter, he's not touching Yasuho to cop a feel. He's doing that because he doesn't know that the Rokakaka doesn't need physical contact

Notice his face. It's neutral, he's not making any kind of perverted expression like he did in the Paper Moon arc

And the worst he's done is probably steal that wallet. But he got MORE than enough punishment in that arc for what he did

Also if we're criticizing characters for stealing than you have to dislike these characters too

Also, Joshu gets WAY more punishment than any other character

He gets knocked out in chapter 1 and Paper Moon King, gets nothing in Shakedown Road, he's overlooked by everyone except Daiya, He gets flushed in Vitamin C, Milagro Man, gets a table through the jaw, and lost his arm

Also, I think Joshu is on the spectrum because he has trouble properly expressing his feelings to Yasuho. He calls Yasuho "my little strawberry" and focuses on the sexaul aspect of relationships because that's all he knows; he's never been in or seen a real relationship

He's just mimicking what media has taught what relationships are like

So that's everything "bad" about Joshu. And before you say his hair, it's implied he had no control of that and that he has some kind of deficiency

here's every good thing Joshu did

he gave up his arm for Yasuho
he quickly accepts Josuke as a Higashikata
he helps Josuke during Shakedown Road
he tries to defend his family from outsiders
he thinks of new ideas of what to do with the Higashikata estate

Also, more stuff that lines up with Joshu being on the spectrum

The way he punches himself, his impulsiveness, fussy eating habits, aggressive nature, and most importantly his consistent lack of social unawareness (most commonly seen in his interactions with Josuke and Yasuho)
