i reported the guy in my class for two things: targeted harassment (of me), and for saying the KKK and BLM are the same thing. multiple students have come to me privately to express how upsetting this student is.

however, the prof and department chair have taken the stance that not only is equating the KKK and BLM not hate speech, it does not even count as racist speech. it is merely “an opinion”

i’m really starting to feel like i’m fucking crazy. this student says stuff like this practically every class and every authority close to the situation is doing nothing about it. what the fuck should i do?????

the student continually harasses and singles me out in class because i am the only one to counter him when he says his alt-right bullshit. even after i ask him to stop, he continues to engage. he makes sarcastic comments directed at me when i’m not even speaking.

this isn’t even being addressed in all this reporting! i keep saying i am afraid that unless he is told by authority that what he is doing is not okay, he will only amp up his harassment, as that’s what he’s done. i’m left with literally no support

i was told that when he unpromptedly said “gender and sex are the same, you can’t change your gender”, that doesn’t count as transphobic speech, or hate speech, and again is a matter of opinion. a matter of opinion... that’s factually incorrect... and dangerous to trans people

if these things are not hate speech then what the fuck is?? how much evil shit does this guy have to say before the school does something??? should i continue to escalate this? is it fucking hopeless?
