Here's a mini-rant about Guilty Gear (I guess in this case +R) and difficulty because it frustrates the hell out of me to see good games get dismissed because of shitty herd mentality around what games are playable and which ones aren't. Let's gatling through some bullshit.
Roman Cancels. That's what RC stands for. They're the exact same as Focus Attack Cancels, because Capcom stole the idea from a better game. lol.

In all seriousness, on hit or block you can cancel what you're doing for half your super bar and you'll be free to do whatever.
FRC, or False Roman Cancels because you probably didn't know what the F stood for. It's okay. It's completely useless knowledge anyways. Is a Roman Cancel that requires timing. That's it. There's a window that you can RC that costs less meter. And it's called an FRC.
Apparently some spaces call it a "Force Roman Cancel" but I've never heard it called that before today so, like, that's just your opinion, man.

As long as you have 50% meter you don't have to "force" yourself to do an FRC. You can try for it, miss, and still do your sequence.
Gatlings are just chain combos. You don't have to think or time them. You just mash A>B>C>D and it'll come out. In fact, that's even how gatlings are notated! Only, instead of using KOF's ABCD notation for buttons, they use the first letter of each button, P>K>S>HS>D.
Speaking of throwing shade at Street Fighter, Force Breaks. They're just EX moves. Capcom did this one first tho. I'm watching you ASW... đŸ€”

That's all there is to it. They're just EX versions of a character's best moves. No trigonometry here.

6P - Universal anti-air. Every character has one.

DAA - It's just Guard Cancel Blowback, but not quite as good.

Jump Cancels - Press up when you hit someone. That's it.

What, a system that makes you take less damage the less health you have? You mean, just like in SFIV?
My point with all of this isn't that GG, at the highest level, is easy. It's that the point where you and so many other people start IS. When you're just starting out, you DON'T need to be concerning yourself with FRC pressure sequences and shit.

Just play. You'll get there.
