I'm watching "David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet" and as interesting and spectacular and thought provoking as the film is, he glibly skips over colonisation as the main driver of the destruction of biodiversity. Which is ironic, since he's British.
Like, he talks about visiting all these countries which his Queen had colonised and witnessing local flora and fauna disappearing post his visits, without the slightest hint of irony. Like he'd have his career if it wasn't for his country colonising basically everyone
At the beginning of the film he said something like the 1950s were the best period ever for humans because of the end of WW3 and the technological expansion. Should have said best period ever for white people.

Can't believe I never saw this with him before
Sir Attenborough yet to redeem himself. He's talking about the disappearance of wild bison in North America, says they disappeared coz of "humans", doesn't mention that white people drove bison almost to extinction in order to starve Native Americans #DavidAttenboroughMustFall
