NEW MOON MAGIC

Tonight’s New Moon in Libra is a big one for us all, whether it aspects or not.

Let’s talk lunar magic, moon cycles, and how to make sense of what kind of magic the Moon will entertain tonight!

It's gonna be a weird one friends! Stick with me here --

FIRST -- the Moon is the dynamic, shifting luminary. She’s the fastest moving planet, her changes are the easiest to track, and even when she’s completely dark, we still feel her power.

She is the power that transforms and works in the unseen, a fleeting and dynamic power.

SECOND -- neither luminary has a “personality” like the starry planets do. Merc - Pluto have various objectives, goals, and patterns of behavior. The luminaries (sun/moon) are different -- they simply ARE power.

The lunar phases are what I describe as her “moods” rather than a reflection of her power. The visibility of the Moon doesn't determine her reach -- tides rise and fall regardless.

The new moon is her most receptive, but it’s also the hardest to approach her.

This new moon takes place at 23°54' Libra hitting exact at 3:31PM CST, giving our lunar lady a lovely T-square opposite Mars, square the big boys in Capricorn.

Venus, Libra’s ruling planet, is in a much better place tonight -- opposite Neptune and trine Jupiter.

The Moon is tired, stressed, and angry. As she reflects the Sun’s light, so she reflects the Collective’s spirit. The whole world is bound, trapped, sealed -- we are STUCK and feeling powerless.

We are angry about it.

The Moon comes in to offer an outlet --

She is in the superior position to the Celestial Authorities (Jupiter & Saturn) and Pluto is happy to let himself be an amplifier for the Moon’s punk rock show tonight.

Tonight is for the magics of revelry!

Mars has been getting beat for ages and he's gonna sing about it!

Magically, lunar oppositions are like sudden release valves (see Full Moon magic) so Mars will get a chance to explode tonight despite the protests of our Capricorn placed friends.

I’m not saying go out and break quarantine -- nothing like that. I’m saying MAKE IT a party!

This is a weekend (and I mean weekend) for Bacchus to dip back into the mortal realm and remind us why we’re doing this. Why we care, why we fight, why we’re hurting, why we’re frustrated -- because this is all bullshit holding us back.

Renew the rebel within!

Tonight, the Moon joins us in her hidden form, a darkened goddess swaying tides and hips, slowing the Earth’s spin and twirling us around her whims -- surrender to the unseen will of the world and let it move you.

Dance with the heavens! Drink them deep and be drank in return!

Tonight is for the weary and restless, the warriors whose swords are growing rusty. Renew your passions, rediscover what you’re fighting for, and thank the Moon for your pathetic, tiny, miraculous humanness.
