These lessons even hold for the new generation of Hindu kids in India, who have lost all touch with the culture.
For me Hinduism is a solid philosophical framework which explains the mysteries of life, & must be routinely reinforced through cultural practices. https://twitter.com/vjgtweets/status/1317143358867869697
My parents are nice & simple people, but do not have any original thoughts. They introduced me to the cultural practices, but never discussed Hindu philosophy or the meaning of life as interpreted by our culture. As a result I became deracinated and only later did I find Dharma.
Now everything makes sense because I appreciate our rich philosophy & accept the need of cultural practices to reinforce our faith & add a human touch to it.
Again, very nice thread. Hinduism will thrive, if we organize it around philosophy & then introduce cultural practices.
