I& #39;m about to do something very unfashionable by the standards of the POTN fandom.
You know, I& #39;m gonna look at Jihwa& #39;s feelings, motivations and behaviors and actually pay attention.

Fandom theory: Jihwa is playing into Min& #39;s hands again, he& #39;s trying to lure SH out so that NK could be attacked while he& #39;s out to see the doctor.
Me (maybe in my hubris, but please prove me otherwise): do show me actual evidence in picture or text and NOT in speculation.

Chapters 52-54 order of events: Nakyum goes to see Seungho while Seungho is with the noblemen. After Deokjae is beaten up by SH, he goes to see Mumyeong and get his share of money. He knows he escaped with his life only because SH was distracted, so he needs to urgently get away.
Chapter 54, during this same meeting: Mumyeong flinches and gets rid of Deokjae because the servant wants to implicate Jihwa. For obvious reasons, he has to get rid of the body afterwards.
Chapter 55: SH spends the day sick in bed. The night after Deokjae was killed, Jihwa sent SH a letter posing as a certain lord Song to get SH to meet with him. Jihwa clearly used the identity of a person that will get SH to go to the meeting.
That leaves us exactly one day between SH tossing Deokjae out and Jihwa sending the letter. Mumyeong had to get rid of the body at night, and he& #39;s not the type to rush the plan (he stated it pretty clearly to Jihwa). It& #39;s doubtful he& #39;d go and see Jihwa right away after it.
And why, do tell me, is there a body? Isn& #39;t that because Mumyeong would act decisively so that Jihwa would not be implicated? Didn& #39;t Mumyeong clearly tell Jihwa to stay home and not to contact him during their very first meeting because he picked up on Jihwa& #39;s anxiety and
had this image of Jihwa reinformed when Jihwa went to see him? You know, the drunk, anxious Jihwa on the verge of a nervous breakdown?
Yes, I am absolutely positive the man who got rid of Deokjae to keep Jihwa out of suspicion would change his mind and go see Jihwa to have him

lure SH away - which would undoubtely draw suspicion if NK was killed, with everyone knowing of Jihwa& #39;s love for SH and hate for NK, and also Min knowing about the plan - in around 12 hours? Yes, pff, makes perrrfect sense and is so in character for M., a professional assassin.
Chapter 56: Jihwa and Min didn& #39;t plan anything beforehand, Min is clearly waiting for Jihwa to come out for a drink to ask to be in on the plan. Jihwa is ignoring him. He doesn& #39;t know about the SH vs Min standoff concerning NK. Jihwa is desperate for information about SH and NK,
he& #39;d pester Min for details if he knew. Something else is clearly on his mind and his dreams show he already has fears and regrets about the plan.
Compare Jihwa being confronted by someone voicing out what he& #39;s involved in. He& #39;s shocked to hear Min wants in on the plan.

His anxiety in such a moment also spiked up before, when Mumyeong voiced the plan when Jihwa came to meet him.
Here& #39;s proof Jihwa doesn& #39;t know about Deokjae. He doesn& #39;t want Min involved and his thoughts are on something else already.

Compare Jihwa waiting for SH and the anxious Jihwa from ch51 having a nervous breakdown over the plan.
This isn& #39;t tearful, anxious fidgeting. This is a depressed, pensive man missing the person he loves. He wrote the letter because he wanted to see Seungho, plain and simple.

Do you seriously think Jihwa in the midst of being an assassination plan bait would look like he does at the tavern? The guy who spent a month biting his nails bloody over it?
Jihwa wrote the letter knowing what Deokjae said at Mumyeong& #39;s house: that SH is meeting other noblemen

and ignoring NK. He was hoping to initiate a meeting, maybe get SH back. But on his way there, he met Min and learned something involving Min and NK did happen and SH beat Min up for it.
And that& #39;s what I see here. Not smugness, but hysterics spiking up.
And that& #39;s what I see here. Not smugness, but hysterics spiking up.
He had high hopes but all he gets is a kick instead of a hello.
And look, NK& #39;s wrist injury was discovered after SH went out. SH would have to give his permission for Kim to go out with NK to the doctor.
Who and how would know NK will go out to see a doctor at all, and when?

Are you so sure that Deokjae about to go on the run, desparate to get his money would tell Mumyeong such details as NK& #39;s injury which he& #39;d caused in a bout of fury? Deokjae destroying NK& #39;s things was him acting without thinking. And how would Mumyeong or Jihwa know beforehand
the exact timing of NK going out? Nevermind it being in the middle of the day and with Mumyeong doing what he can to keep Jihwa out of suspicion?
