My post has nothing to do with Rust in particular, just generally talking about SO and wikis that attract full timers who will dominate the space, impart their vision. Those who question it get nitpicked even more than the average person in those space.

This same pattern is how you get zealots on wikipedia deadnaming/misgendering trans folks. How prominent women in history, especially STEM, have their pages taken down by the full timers on their power trips. Easy to nitpick and destroy someone& #39;s drive from these roles.

Even if it is unconscious bias, if someone has pushed back against dupe Qs a few times, pushed back against edits, the person who fancies themself a moderator will think of the "user" as a problem and have a negative reaction where they& #39;d normally let things lie.
