I& #39;m cranky this morning, so let& #39;s do some more diving into the NDP claim the average family will save $3,400 a year with their promises.
(Which only means for one year, as it includes the $1,000 rebate).
It only includes families, with children, who rent.

According to the Canadian Rental Housing Index, that& #39;s just 75,540 households — about 4% of households in British Columbia.
It seems low, but only 31% of households are renters (it& #39;s quite low outside Metro Van), and only around a third of renters have kids in the house.

So, now we& #39;re down to 4% of households in B.C. affected by this NDP promise of the "average family".
But!
You have to be eligible for the renters rebate, meaning your household makes under $80,000.
For a renting couple with kids in BC, the average income is $85K, median $72K
