Let's review a few of the rules changes being pushed through. It that touches almost every person in the United States. First off, a fundamentally new way to define "independent contractor," which now covers abt 19 million people in the US.
For millions and millions, this could impact whether they are "employees" or "contractors" and the work benefits and protections they get. Yet Labor Depart admits its not sure how this will change the workplace. And it is only offering folks 30 days to comment.
Next up: Major changes in immigration measures by DHS. Not just fingerprints, voice, iris and facial recognition might now be required for immigrants. Also, major new barriers H1B visa, given to skilled workers, adopted with no advance public comment.
NEXT UP: DHS in YET ANOTHER RULE, with only 30 days of public notice, also wants to make it much harder to SPONSOR an immigrant coming to the United States
EPA is also very busy trying to push through several final rules. Like regulations that set standards for OZONE and PARTICULATES.
