Stuff on Twitter doesn’t bother me too often but the ‘underlying condition’-brigade are really upsetting me.
It’s not ok to dismiss a death as inevitable because someone doesn’t have perfect health (few of us do).

I also hate the idea of being ok with someone not having a good death because they have an underlying condition and covid.
An ICU death is not inevitable for someone with a chronic heart condition but has been the reality for hundreds of people.
We should care about this.

Think about a bad thing.
Imagine you got diagnosed with cancer today.
Imagine you were told it was curable.
You’re in for a tough ride but you’ll be ok.
Now imagine you get Covid too.
Now read some of the tweets about underlying conditions.

And that’s an extreme example.
I hate lockdowns. I want to play camogie and go to my families in Kildare and Cork. I want TJ’s business to go back to normal.
But I also want people to be able to live, get good care, and plan for a good death if the worse is happening
