Those of us who live with that isolation all the time because we are chronically ill or disabled have been trying to teach everyone since February about how to cope. Instead of listening, you have even forgotten us when creating friend group Zoom calls & continue to be angsty. https://twitter.com/awgaffney/status/1316905291779346433
And frankly, we are where we are in no small part because all of the able-bodied people who haven’t socially isolated at all. All the parties and barbecues and weddings and evenings around the fire pit are taking a toll because people didn’t even try to learn how to deal.
But of course it is those of us who are chronically ill and disabled who are at the highest risk because able-bodied people couldn’t bear to be alone with themselves and their households in their own thoughts. We are the ones who aren’t even able to go to the doctor right now.
Spare us about how you won’t be able to deal with social isolation of the cold dark long winter. If you had behaved better during the nice pretty warm summer then you wouldn’t have to. But there aren’t going to be any other choices.
