#StealTheseIdeas

01/22

An old friend - @shervin has $10m for teams building @Zoom Zapps. I threw a couple of ideas out.

So, I organized & expanded. If you get rich, send shares or btc 🙂. DM me with any ?s. This is a long thread, but hopefully someone builds something cool. https://twitter.com/shervin/status/1316854321758208002

1. Podcast & Live "Broadcast Platform & Service Marketplace:
We & a lot of people use Zoom to record podcast interviews & it works pretty well, but it's incomplete in terms of being something you can use to actually create the final products. The market is booming &
03/22
everyone is becoming a broadcaster. Most corps will bring all publishing in-house & creating great content will be critical for all companies & even individuals. My 11 year old already has awesome production skills & my 14 yr old is becoming a master of @AdobePremiereCC
04/22
This idea is a platform that uses the Zoom infrastructure to build an entire production "studio" around Zoom.

Create an interface that allows you to setup, record, edit, distribute, & promote produced video & audio. Add to that screen recording as well as live
05/22
graphic additions & the ability for people to "call in" with questions for live broadcasts. The system would automatically post to all relevant distribution points & prepare transcripts on the fly & then prepare social media posts & even ads to promote the newly posted
06/22
content. Similar to other idea below, it could also be used for members only content posting & notifications.

The next phase of this would be to integrate a marketplace that can provide editing, music tracks, production oversight, voice overs, graphic design, marketing,
07/22
etc. all in the same interface & can provide your company significantly more revenue beyond the SaaS model.

The cool thing is this can be then used for all kinds of productions later, not just interviews, because you will have a network of pros that can provide editing,
08/22
etc.

2. Jam Sessions
Allow musicians to automatically get together virtually to jam together, record, & publish music. Use similar tools to the first idea for editing as well as marketplace for it. A community of artists would be able to find each other & just start
09/22
jamming any time they like. They could keep it private or even go live & subscribers to the platform could have access to the live shows or watch via PPV.

This may require client software for a couple of reasons.

A. There may be a tech issue with this idea because of
10/22
lag, so it may be important to have client software that is syncing up the actual timing for all the artists providing the live content.
B. IDK enough about it, but I assume that hardware connections to computers are required & may work better with client software

I see
11/22
this one as something that people would love to use & to watch. It could create an explosion of creativity as well as create fans for groups that get together. Maybe the next big names in music actually form here & it could spin off into being a recording production
12/22
company.

The potential could also be to immediately post new productions for sale on iTunes, etc. You could even have a Patreon like model where people sponsor musicians, but also get a cut of proceeds from sales of creations. All kinds of ideas around this one.

3. Live & On Location Training
Some of this is doable on YouTube, but bringing vertical markets all together with sponsors and/or subscriptions makes sense. This really could be another model for the first idea in this list as a market within the overall market.

A platform
14/22
that provides an easy way to live broadcast training in a specific arena on a subscription or PPV model with production, graphic, & editing assistance built in.

I'm sure there are other markets like this, but I have experience helping a startup in the fishing industry
15/22
build & launch their products & brand & insights with what influencers in this arena deal with in trying to make a living. There are 60 million anglers in the US & billions in revenue, but it's a mess when it comes to this part of the industry.

The idea would be to allow
16/22
athletes, artists, & any industry talent to train people & interact with trainees on one platform on a subscription basis and/or to have sponsors. So a professional fisherman that makes very little in the actual sport, could bring gear out on to their boat & teach all
17/22
kinds of techniques to amateurs that are dying to be better at the sport. The angler doesn't want to spend time dealing with edits, etc. & people want to see something professionally created & be able to ask questions. Zoom with a marketplace of editors & other pros would
18/22
be a great way to do this to make it easier for these folks to make a living & build a community of fans.

4. Integrations with existing chat apps with a ton of users like Telegram. I would love to click one button & start a mtg with my partners rather than the whole
19/22
click, login, join, wait, can you hear me, etc. Take it further & enable instant meetings on all kinds of platforms.

5. Website video chat for support/sales. Make it easy for people to setup & manage support via video calls instantly from website. Support & sales teams
20/22
would need to be ready all the time, but that is the job. Click a button & you can immediately be connected. User would be able to choose audio only when they start it.

6. Video only social network - Use zoom infrastructure for a social network that works like Twitter,
21/22
but all posts & replies are videos. I think it would make for less heated & better discussions. This isn't TikTok, because it's meant for discussion like you see on Twitter. I would require that people watch their video before they post it. Automatically provide
22/22
transcripts & allow for redos if they don't like the video created.

I'm sure I will have more. If I do will reply & add to this thread. Thanks @Shervin for getting the idea machine rolling. Could do this all day. Anyone that wants to run with these is welcome to DM me.
