Re: '94 Crime Bill

Did you know...

1.) Black leaders in Congress supported it.

2.) Most Black Mayors supported the legislation as they grappled with violent crime.

3.) A 1994 @Gallup survey shows 58% of Black Americans supported it, compared to 49% of White Americans.
It shouldn't be lost on us that most Black people supported the bill because violent crime was so high in many Black neighborhoods & Black people wanted a solution to that.

These are just the facts, do with them what you want.
Were their unintended consequences, yes, but we can't talk about the legislation without talking about Black support for it.
