why romione makes more sense than harmione — a thread
- harry just doesn’t see hermione in a romantic way at all. hermione doesn’t see harry in a romantic way either. this is very base level reason but to put it simply- you can’t force a relationship, it has to come from mutual feelings, which neither of them have.
- harry and hermione are very impatient, especially with each other. harry prefers to act first, think later, which infuriates hermione to no end. she also gets annoyed when he can’t keep up with her train of thought. harry gets impatient when she stops to think about things.
- ron has a lot more tolerance and patience for hermione’s logical thought process. ron likes it when hermione stops to think about things. harry doesn’t, he would rather just act on his impulses.
- ron and hermione both need someone who will argue with them and challenge them. their arguing is part of their relationship- hermione needs to be questioned sometimes, and ron likes to be proven right. they both enjoy bickering and having discussions about things.
- harry, on the other hand, doesn’t understand this at all. he’s too impatient for their arguing, and his temper would get the better of him. he doesn’t seem to realise that ron and hermione LIKE arguing, and snaps at them a few times over the series because of it.
- ron and hermione balance each other out. they’re both very intelligent in different ways- hermione is very knowledgeable and extremely perceptive. ron is very strategic and is good at staying calm in a crisis. they work well together and are willing to share their knowledge.
- hermione can get a bit snappish when harry is in one of his brooding moods. hermione is perceptive, but she isn’t the most empathetic with people and seems to think that if a problem can be solved with logic it isn’t a real problem, so she disregards feelings.
- when ron isn’t there, harry and hermione are miserable. in fourth year harry’s inner monologue compares spending time with hermione to ron and he definitely prefers spending time with both of them together+
+in deathly hallows, hermione doesn’t stop crying about ron. harry has NO idea how to cheer her up, because he’s miserable himself. there is no dance scene in the books. harry and hermione both avoid each other and don’t talk about their feelings at all.
- they need ron there to bring them together. harry and hermione care for each other deeply but they struggle to relate to each other. ron helps bridge the gap between them. they wouldn’t be able to sustain a relationship on their own.
- hermione and ron spend a lot of time alone together which we don’t see. during summer they usually spend a bit of time together without harry, as well as visiting hogsmeade alone in third year and having prefect duties together.
- harry has a thing for quidditch players (ginny, cho, cedric, even draco at a stretch) hermione is not a quidditch player. do i need to elaborate any further??
- hermione and ron have all the best tropes. best friends to lovers, the jealousy, the mutual pining, the denial, the confessing each other’s love in the middle of battle because they’re terrified they might not live- it’s so perfect.
in conclusion why would you ship harmione when the the perfect ship js right there- romione supremacy romione supremacy romione supremacy <3
