Sometimes I wonder what the purpose of vent art is other than self-expression combined with the short-lived attention you get when you post it. It just doesn't make any logical sense to me other than the two reasons above.

It's not bad. I just think it's some sort of a sad excuse to host some half-ass pity party. Yeah I know art is meant for freedom of expression but I think it's pathetic because: (1) It's a waste of time and energy; and (2) the world doesn't revolve around you so ofc no one cares.

It's funny when someone posts their vent art YET they disable comments on them. Why? What's the point of posting your vent art if you don't want people to acknowledge your work? Why bother wasting your time, energy, and resources working on something that makes you look idiotic?

Jesus Christ you can AT LEAST do something more productive like reading articles about what you're feeling, watch whatever you like, or just draw shit without the need to post them other than wanting people to kiss your ass for feeling sorry for you. Goddamn.

If people go apeshit over this thread, I ain't gonna waste my time scanning through their comments and replying to them. I've already read tons of sites regarding this vent art thing and how it helps artists to cope with their problems. I'm just playing devil's advocate for this.
