Imagine...
Imagine if places were beautiful, if you didn't became depressed by walking.

The old parts always have an attraction. In newer parts, you better stay away.
Imagine, that if you wanted, you were not far from a place of rest, of pure calmth.

Instead, we have cars. Cars seem something nice, but they've ripped our cities open. Making everything further, noisy vehicles.
Beauty is a vital part of human existence. FORM IS FUNCTION, as Christopher Alexander said.
Function in the sense, that it makes one happy. It sparks satisfaction. Nature can fulfill this in one way.

Designing a city like a desert, no details. From afar, it may look beautiful (rarely). If you get closer, it gets uglier and uglier.

You need richness.
What if we never took the path of ugliness. What would the world have looked like?

Who will know...

Great series by @stewartbrand on how buildings should be able to:
- evolve through time (churches are a perfect example)
- modify (users can change it themselves, this is lacking in top-down constructions)
Other great accounts to follow are @Trad_West_Art and @wrathofgnon. Great inspirations along the way.
