We’re protesting because not ONE @NigerianPolice @NGPoliceForce officer responsible for the murder and maiming of unarmed peaceful protesters has been arrested, nor has any commander resigned/been fired.

Instead, the IG of @NGPoliceForce has responded with a rebranding attempt, choosing to change the name of the murderous Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to a “new” Special Weapons and Tactical (SWAT) unit. We reject this measure as dead on arrival.

We will now step up protests by strongly urging the Canadian Govt to target specific @NGPoliceForce officers (& their families) responsible for overseeing these atrocities, with restrictions/revocations of ALL Canadian visas &permits, + pending & future applications.

This is in coordination with petitions in the UK, USA, and other countries, to deny @NGPoliceForce officers & their families entry on grounds of gross violations of human rights & continued police violence & brutality.
