There’s lots of other stories my mom’s told me over the years. The one where her and my dad were scooped up into a car with Dennis Wilson and Robert Plant maybe? Driven up into the Hollywood hills where they got out and got lost in the woods

My mom & dad knocked on a random door to try and call a cab and Julie Driscoll answered the door. She invited my folks in and her and Brian Auger treated them to some tea. The some broadway composer (I forget who) drove them home

I mean I could get started talking about how my mom owned the first skateboard store in Philly back in 1985, and how she brought Steve Olson and the Skull Skates crew to do a demo here in the middle of that winter. First time I ever met a pro skater was cause of moms

Hanging out in the backyard of Spikes Skates with Rodney Mullen, Stacey Peralta, Mike McGill maybe? Maybe Jesse Martínez too? First time I ever saw anyone do a wall ride was that guy. Fucking unbelievable

And then she brought the Vision crew to Philly... John Grigley and Steve Rocco and some others as well. I can’t remember. I do remember Rocco was the guy who taught me how to do a kick flip so that’s hard as fuck
