context: ilomilo is a puzzle game that was released in 2010. the premise of the game is to unite ilo and milo, who begin at seperate sides of the level and need to work together to meet again.

the lyrics in ilomilo are really well thought out, there are two nods to other songs on the album.
“...if you’re gonna die, not by mistake” is a reference to a lyric featured in the bridge of xanny.
“the friends i’ve had to bury, they keep me up at night” references the song bury a friend.
a lyric from ilomilo “the world’s a little blurry” is being used as the title for billie’s documentary, set to debut in february of 2021.
