Nope. Objectively, 2001: A Space Odyssey has a lot to say. It’s about beauty and dangers of human progress and technological advancement and how human have the power over the future. The movie is saying that humans need to careful and make the right choices.
Objectively, the movie is well written and well made. The movie is logically consistent, conveys its themes in a way that’s nuanced and subtle, and uses it’s beautiful cinematography to tell a story.
Just because a film doesn’t convey the theme you want it to convey or you didn’t enjoy it doesn’t make it badly written or badly made. 2001: A Space Odyssey is objectively an excellent from a writing and filmmaking perspective. You can dislike movies that are objectively good.
