This is pretty much my worldview now. I think it explains what non-coercion is all about. Willpower is powerful and important, but it can't win against an endless bubbling up of negativity.

If you fight emotions with logic, you will burn yourself to a crisp, or give up.

Ultimately, if there is something deep inside you that is fucking your life up:

1) You probably dont know what it is
2) You can only solve your problems by healing this part of yourself. Otherwise it will keep bubbling up negativity that requires willpower to overcome

Idk about y'all, but no one ever told me that shit growing up. For the most part I have only seen people engage in this type of invalidation, coercion, and abuse

"Oh you're sad? You shouldnt be!! Anyone would kill to have your material circumstances!!!" = ACTIVELY HARMFUL
What happens when you run out of willpower? When you fail to logically invalidate your feelings and permanently "get over your petty ass bullshit insignificant problems?"

Your trauma grows and you feel even worse.
None of these ideas are mine. Most of I learned from @HealthyGamerGG

This thread summarizes a great explanation that I heard from him regarding this type of model. https://twitter.com/SeanMombo/status/1233431568573718530?s=20
