Reminder that there are fakes out here writing bait tweets trying to get y'all to say things, or even do things, that could be used against you. Note how old an account is too, bc that's a consideration. Some ppl look legit, but upon closer examination are not propped up by much.

I saw one such tweet not so long ago, and I am telling you, I note these things about people & I don't forget. Bc even if they are not working in the direct service of the state, they are still working in the service of the state.

Someone might simply have terrible judgment about what should & should not be said on here. In that case, you will do them no favors by further amplifying their missteps. But seriously, I side eye anyone who is looked to as knowledgeable who doesn't understand boundaries on this.

Also, pls understand that simply RTing certain content could help facilitate criminalization. For example, if someone said "the time for peaceful protest is over" and I RT'd that, that would DEFINITELY be brought up in court if I were accused of violence. Be real but be smart.

I would never RT that, of course, just saying, as an example.

There is going to be a lot of repression and a lot of highly manufactured accusations in the coming months. I won't say "stay safe," bc idk how to do that in these times, but do be thoughtful about safety.
