. @mrcsreynolds and I are headed to Hawai’i as it reopens to Tourists with Pre-Travel #CoVID tests not having to quarantine.
. @HawaiianAir assured me that it’s seating passengers at 70% capacity, but I have seen people not in the same household having to be seated next to each other. It’s going to be a long 5+ hours. – bei Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
It’s nice hearing some local music for the first time in awhile. Boy, I’ve missed my home state. – bei Gate 58
The pacific was putting on a show. Our pilot must’ve had her foot on the pedal, we arrived at HNL almost 25 minutes ahead of schedule. Definitely not traveling on Hawaiian time.
Flying over the Koolaus and seeing my home state from the air never gets old. It’s been almost a year since I’ve been home. #covid has certainly made travel a bit more difficult. This week, @mrcsreynolds and I will see how the state of Hawai’i has been handling it.
It took 78 minutes from when @HawaiianAir flight 9 got to the gate at HNL until I made it through the line, checking for health questionnaire and pre-travel #coronavirus test results.
Ok. Completely forgot how humid Hawai’i can get. Make it stop! 🥵
Many arriving passengers faced long waits as state officials checked to be sure all arrivals had answered a health questionnaire, had their temperatures taken and shown proof of a negative #Coronavirus test. Some in line, had to rush off to connecting flights to the outer islands
The process seemed easy enough, but I do wonder if the State of Hawaii had enough personnel on hand to handle the influx of thousands of people traveling to the state. #Coronavirus
Here's @mrcsreynolds's story with some of my rectangles, as we spend some time here on Hawaii's "The Gathering Place" https://twitter.com/mrcsreynolds/status/1316949257698553859?s=20
