Strict constructionists are legit so annoying, how are you going to go hard for a piece of paper that was legit written but old, white, rich, slave owning MEN. By being die hard supporters of the legit words on a paper, you inherently perpetuate the idea that these men were gods

They THEMSELVES knew this wasn’t the end all be all and purposely wrote the constitution to be broadly interpreted. Look at the 9th, 10th, and Article 1, Section 8, all purposely broad. The constitution was created TO BE applied to several situations not sPeCiFiCalY wRitTeN

When you use the constitution to deny humans basic rights and liberties, I think that says a lot more about your beliefs as a person than your so called “political beliefs.” This country wasn’t created to prioritize one person’s way of living over another.

And yes we have the Supremacy Clause, Article 6, that makes the constitution the “supreme law of the land” but it wasn’t written to say “this is the solution to everything listen to what is written”, it was created to prioritize power in government. It’s a clause RE: federalism
