Confused about the line Andy Burnham & co are taking. They are saying that tier 2 restrictions haven't worked to bring down cases, but they won't go to tier 3 due to financial package and no certainty that will work, so they'll just... Keep doing something that isn't working?
Like, this just seems like it's also going to end poorly for Manchester. Liverpool apparently has 90% hospital occupancy due to the surge in cases there; Manchester is second only to them and cases are still rising. If they do nothing else, local NHS will overwhelm there too.
Just continuing in this thread to laugh like a drain at the government's new, simpler tier system which is meant to prevent there being different restrictions everywhere.

As now Lancashire is joining Liverpool in tier 3.

Only their gyms and leisure centres don't need to shut.
