The Republican party has done some irreparable damage to our electoral institutions in the United States of America. These are the sort of responses I hear everyday at my job with the Centre County Democratic Committee in Pennsylvania. THREAD: 1/9

People are afraid that their voter registration has been expunged from the records (for no legitimate reason). They are are genuinely worried that their vote will not be counted BECAUSE they are Democrats. 2/9

People are afraid that their mail in ballot will be sabotaged. They fear they may not receive it, that it won't be counted, that it'll be conveniently lost in transit, that it will be subpoenaed by the state government or that it will be discounted by some arbitrary law. 3/9

People are prepared (in mass numbers) to surrender their mail in ballots on Election Day because they genuinely do not believe that they will be counted after the numerous attacks on mail in voting in PA and largely, the U.S. 4/9

People are afraid to put Biden-Harris signs out in their neighborhood for fear of retribution or harassment. In Centre County, Biden-Harris signs are routinely stolen, defaced, destroyed, or shot up with bullets. The intolerance in this country is at an all time high 5/9

The harassment does not merely stop at yard signs. It's not unusual for some to receive threatening phone calls or letters. Trespassing on property or the destruction of one's property is yet another issue. 6/9

People are worried to go to their polling places on election day for fear of voter intimidation. People do not believe that the results on election night will be legitimate. 7/9

I worry greatly for this nation. I often wonder how we will move past this. I fear that there will be violence throughout the country on Election Day and the days that follow it. This sort of intolerance is not just toxic - it is dangerous and it is life threatening. 8/9
