A friend sent me this tweet and inspired me to get back to work on an essay pulling my plans and suggestions together into a coherent presentation. I've been working on it and am making some progress. https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/1314287213400789004
The Hillary tweet above was referring to this "prize." https://twitter.com/EarthshotPrize/status/1314083108690550784?s=19
But as I looked closer, Hillary was wrong. You can't "send your ideas..."
It appears that "new" ideas can only be found by established experts. I presume this means the new ideas will be very similar to the ones which are currently not working. https://twitter.com/EarthshotPrize/status/1314503686064943107?s=19
However, I have needed to produce this essay for some time, and I am continuing to work on it.
I don't care about the prize. Money, to me, has little attraction. I have enough and don't care about more.
The accepted "solutions" are, quite literally, science fiction. So...
Presuming that none of my 12k+ Twitter readers are "Earthshot nominators" I won't wind up participating in this event, my personal "biggest boldest" ideas won't be in the running, and the odds are that the big, bold ideas which capture the prize will be easily recognized already.
But... 🤷
I'm used to it.
