The Kenyan film industry refused to hold Nick Mutuma accountable but are telling us how we have to support them. Why should Kenyan women support you when you don't care about us and continue to work with someone who was accused by multiple women of sexual harassment?

Despite this, nobody in the Kenyan film industry said anything and before long it was back to regular programming. Then in 2018, the movie Disconnect came out. Now, I know that when the accusations came out the movie had probably already been made. #BoycottNickMutuma

But what Kenyan women expected was at the very least an acknowledgment that they didn't know before they made the movie and that they would not work with him in the future. But again it was silence as people hyped the movie and went to watch. #BoycottNickMutuma

Over the years, the Kenyan film and entertainment industry has shown us repeatedly that they do not care about violence against women as they either ignored or continued to work with men who have been accused of violence even when it's by several women #BoycottNickMutuma

Today, the movie is on Netflix and the industry is here again asking us to support. And I ask again, why should we? Why should Kenyan women support an industry that doesn't care about us and art that is ok with throwing women under the bus for it? #BoycottNickMutuma

If you don't care about us, we don't care about you. Fullstop. And it's #BoycottNickMutuma now and forever on whatever project he's on. If you don't want your project to be messed up, then stop working with people who have been accused of sexual violence.
