Why Reiner and Historia had the potential to become soulmates/best friends (no, this is NOT meant to be romantically, please call down). A thread
In conclusion they have some interesting parallels in their life that would make them understand and sympathize with one another. Such as:
Historia& #39;s dad used Historia to his advantage while her mom wished she never existed.
Reiner& #39;s dad wished Reiner never existed while his mom used him to her advantage.
Reiner& #39;s dad wished Reiner never existed while his mom used him to her advantage.
They are also both "bastard kids" who were craving for the attention of their parents and wanted to please them.
They both lost their "siblings". Historia lost Frieda, her big half-sister, whom she idolised and wanted to be like her. Reiner lost Marcel, who was like a big bro for him. Reiner also idolised Marcel and wanted to be like him.
They both hid their true identity
They both faked their personality to some degree to imitate their "sibling" to please others.
They were both the most popular cadets among the 104th.
My favourite one: They are both not only suicidal af (which is nothing special in snk lol), but wanted to die as hero to get the appreciation they are also BOTH craving for. E.g. Historia in the snow with Ymir and Daz and Reiner almost everytime he wants to die.
To be more clear, they both want to be a hero for selfish reasons. To get recognition, praise and appreciation they never got from their parents.
Eventually they both got a very important person in their life who helped them with their emotional issues, but then they were losing them again because they got killed, eaten by a new shifter. Of course I& #39;m talking about Ymir and Bertholdt, their most important persons.
They both suffer af to this day, I& #39;d call them THE sufferboy and THE suffergirl in snk
They are both indirectly responsible for mass murder/genocide. Reiner when he breached the wall and Historia when she didn& #39;t tell anyone about Eren& #39;s genocide plan. Though we need more canon explanation on the Historia part.
Deep down in their heart I believe they are both wholesome and good persons. In Reiner& #39;s official stats friendship scores 10/10; In Historia& #39;s official stats altruism scores 10/10
They both have a big heart for kids and love to take care for them. Reiner loves the warrior kids and has the desire to protect them, Historia built up a whole orphanage to give lost kids a home. (how can she be the "worst girl" while doing this!?)
They have both huge responsibilities on their shoulders and a high position in their country. Historia is Queen, Reiner is the Vice Commander and Armoured Titan.
