When one of Byron’s gardeners dug up a human skull at @Newstead_Abbey, he imagined it must have belonged to one of the priory's canons.

So of course he did what any of us would do, and had it turned into a drinking cup. 💀🍷

Byron held a party here before his grand tour in 1809, where he and his mates dressed as monks, hid in coffins around the abbey to terrify the servants, and took it in turns to down wine from the skull cup. 👻
