Adding a few thoughts since people are saying that gold has spiritual value & people would boycott on holy days, which I'm not denying that wouldn't happen:

stock market works on speculations. There is no way of accurately predicting what can happen to a stock price,

unless a rare event like splitting the shares etc. happens. When big conglomerates like TATA launch a new product, people WILL be inclined to buy stocks & retail investors (regular people like us) will be interested to get a share as we too would like to grow money right?

Titan shares were on a trend before the fall. This is normal market behavior. The reason for that fall CAN be because of the outrage. In fact a 2.5% fall isn't even a fall. Indian stock markets halt trading when the index plunges more than 10%, below the lower circuit limit

3/12
A circuit filter band of upper and lower limits within which a benchmark market index can fluctuate on a particular day. These are regulatory mechanisms put in place in stock markets to temporarily halt trading on an exchange to curb panic-selling.

The index cannot fall below the lower limit or climb above the upper limit. These filters restrict extreme price movement and curb price manipulation to a certain extent by stock operators. The filters also protect investors from extreme price fluctuations.

And index is an indicator in finance, which refers to a statistical measure of change in a securities market. In the case of stock markets, stock indices consist of a hypothetical portfolio of securities representing a particular market or a segment of it.

The NIFTY 50 is a benchmark Indian stock market index that represents the weighted average of 50 of the largest Indian companies listed on the National Stock Exchange.

7/12
The other one is Bombay Stock Exchange SENSEX, which is a free-float market-weighted stock market index of 30 well-established and financially sound companies listed on Bombay Stock Exchange. USA has NASDAQ, S&P500, Japan has NIKKEI etc.

Titan is among the companies included under the NIFTY50 index and it is a stable large cap company. Do you see that a company like Titan would not go down easily unless something really really drastic happens (a temporary consumer boycott isn't that drastic)?

9/12
What changes stock prices? Institutional Investors. They can buy crores of shares at one go. A retail investor (regular people like us) wouldn't match that unless something drastic happens. A couple of days of online rage is hardly anything.

10/12
Do you think Institutional Investors would sell Titan shares because of a 2.5% drop? Pfft, please! Kindly, read on banking in India. It has been nationalised with tax money. Those banks and Chinese banks etc. are giving loans to large cap companies like TATA too

What I'm saying is that the boycott needs to be consistent so that shareholders lose trust in the brand. Do you think a crappy ad will have an effect? Lastly, I'm telling Hindus to start to think long term, example below. Some things to consider.
