Kenya is a Trial & Error country [Thread]

In 2002 when everyone was tied with Moi's regime, 2 large communities championed for Uhuru Kenyatta who was defeated by Mwai Kibaki through the support of other communities. In their MOU with Raila ~ "Kibaki Tosha"
Kibaki agreed to rule for 1 term then hand over to Raila and a new constitution in place by 2007.
Kibaki did not honor the promise of a new constitution as what was proposed did not fit Raila's ambitions. Raila then revolted out and joined hands with William Ruto to bring
down the proposed constitution. New alliances and re-grouping were formed towards the 2007 elections where Raila created Pentagon and Kibaki invited his protege Uhuru to campaign for his re-election. This was the most tribal experience that Kenya has ever had in its entire
history. It was dubbed "41 vs 1" and to the surprise of many, "the 1" won and tribal clashes were experienced all over the country. Its until Raila and Kibaki had another agreement that saw immediate creation of a Prime Minister's post and a 50/50 gov't of "nusu mkate"
At this point, i would like to summarize why all this i have highlighted was a trial and error experience.

We all know in Kenya, when it comes to leadership, tribalism is our weakness. In 2001, Raila sort support from Moi but the latter had his choice on Uhuru.
Remember we have 3 large communities, 2 small communities and others. So in 2002, 2 large communities were squaring out with 1 large community, 2 small communities and others. The latter won. In 2005, it was a test of how to re-group and this left one big community isolated.
Its at this time everyone thought Kenya had matured democratically such that the gov't of the day was defeated on its own agenda. It was all about "Kenyans' interests at heart." 2007 happened and that opened a national dialogue on the way forward.
There are many mistakes that happened between 2002 and 2010 but we are yet to learn from our experiences. In the second part(continuation of this thread) i will highlight the evolution of the leadership 2010 going forward, the repeat of mistakes and expecting different results.
