I woke up in tears so you might as well share the Payne. A dlsad, probably not too untrue, 1D dream, a thread

It started off with a video going around dating back to 2013ish. It was taken backstage a 1D concert and first, there was a manager or something explaining to someone how they could tell which fan was in which lane by their outfit

They were standing in a big room and the floor was COVERED in teen girl outfits. At first I was like"this is cute" but then the person in the video went on to explain the details and at the end I was crying

The biggest section in the middle were stripes ("Hey," I thought, "I wear those too", which were mainly directed at Louis' fans. A still rather big section with 'mysterious' clothes (metallics, warm colours) was for the Zayn girls, the back of the room was all Harry lane

Then it came to Niall and Liam, who was awkwardly standing by for some reason (maybe they needed a band member for authenticity idk) and it was literally one outfit that wasn't even as distinct. And Liam had to play it off and be like "it's fine"

Later, the camera got a look inside the dressing rooms. Now, remember, that was around their frat boy phase and they're stage outfits looked accordingly. But in the dressing rooms... Harry was wearing a THICK winged eyeliner, some sort of flowered blouse and a skirt

Louis was being a cute and bubbely in pastel clothes, Zayn was giggling and having fun, Liam was joking around and Niall was laughing so loud you'd think the stadium would here. They were so different from what we'd see on stage but also even more lovely then you'd imagine

And then came the time to go onstage and their managers were like "This has to change" and it was literally as if a grey filter was put over their personalities and they were turned into almost lookalike robots and it was so sad

What was even worse was what happened on stage. A while into the show, they were starting to test the waters and see, how far they could go. H was lying on the floor, trying to hold hands with some fans, Lilo were being all affectionate bc in-between them, it was tolerated and-

Again and again, management came into their ear pieces and told them to split it up or to cut it and basically performed a marionette show (with puppets that tried to not cut of their strings but use all the room they got making the strings go even tighter and shorter)

Finally, just after they got of stage, full of adrenaline and joy, they were told off backstage and got even sadder. You know, the "I'll end your career" sort of thing, "they won't support you if you're yourself" and "know one cares if your boring"

Having watched the video, I was super sad and lost in same mall labyrinth and that's when I came across an AAOOD advent calendar and I took it and I started running and they joy of finding it blended out the pain - and that's when I woke up (End of thread)
