Why David Silva is so much more than an average player with 10 seasons in the Prem, a thread:

1. Assists
David Silva has the sixth highest assists in the prem. To give the numbers some context, he has played 313 fewer games than Giggs, 41 fewer than Fabregas, 182 fewer than Rooney, 300 fewer than Lampard, 6 fewer than Bergkamp and 195 fewer than Gerrard.

Big Chances
David Silva stands at the top when we consider the number of big chances created. KDB, the number two, has created 21 fewer chances. The closest non-city player on the list is Eriksen and he sits with 46 (forty-six) fewer chances.

Passes
Every one knows how great of a passer David Silva is (or at least I hope they do). He has completed 4th highest passes in the league not to mention he has played 346 fewer games than Barry, 41 fewer than Fabregas and 172 fewer games than Carrick.

To put these numbers into context, Barry averaged 33 passes per game, Carrick averaged 39, Fabregas averaged 54.
Silva averaged 61 passes a game which is 28 more than Barry, 22 more than Carrick and 7 more than Fabregas. In every single game.

Chances created:
David Silva also stands at the top when we consider the most number of chances created in the decade. He created 768 chances which is 173 more than Hazard who stands in the second place and 203 more than Eriksen in the third place.

Match wins
David Silva also took the fewest number of matches to reach 200 premier league wins. He did it in 289 games, and even John Terry, the man who conceded only 9 goals from open play in the 2004/5 seasons took 16 more games to reach the same record.

Assists for one player
Silva stands second on the list with 24 assists to Aguero. This is a phenomenal stat considering that Aguero came a year later, suffered numerous injuries and missed many games, not to mention we had beasts like KDB and Toure feeding Aguero the ball as well

As fabulous these facts might be, one shall never know half the player he is from these stats alone. He might not have steaming 30 yard passes that lead to a spectacular goal or come up with a screamer every game, but once you look at him, and only him, you know what he is about.
With a look or two, it's obvious that he is great at finding space, assisting his teammates and chipping in a goal or two, but it's often what he does when there is no space that allows him to take a mile when he's given an inch. You can always see him passing through
a defender not once, not twice but multiple times until they raise their hands in exasperation and realise there is no end to what Silva can do. And yet, they try to lock him into corners, hoping he doesn't get through only for him to pass like the wind.
One inch for Silva is 10 for most people and it's no accident. He simply takes up a position where no player is able to stop him. He plays like he's been on the pitch for 100 years, perfectly weighing every situation before, during and after the game. Like a magician, he always
Knows what to do. Other players have done things Silva doesn't do, but when it comes to things he excels in, you don't see any other players doing the same because they simply can't.
