My name is Halimat Vivian Animashaun, I'm yet another innocent Nigerian citizen and this is my SARS story

Kindly pardon me if I've written it somehow cos I've not even fully recovered from the trauma.

On this fateful night in 2018, they were raiding the area in Mushin where
I stay. I had gone out earlier and was rushing home in a bid to prepare Iftar (breaking of fast) cos I fasted that day, not until I entered the compound and was shocked to meet them inside already. They had beaten up the women and arrested the men there. I stopped dead on my
tracks cos I wasn't sure of what was going on. Unknown to me, they had broken my door, ransacked my room, and turned everything upside down. They then began to challenge me by "talking in the nonsense" and vocally harrasing me. I replied them that I was innocent and they were
totally violating my rights to privacy. That's how one of them started struggling to snatch my handbag from me, asking "what's in the bag?". Me myself was dragging back it as per reflex na. He suddenly cocked his gun and pointed it at my head and said "look at my face well,
I'll kill you and nothing will happen". He then proceeded to forcefully remove my hijab. It was at that point I got terribly scared of further molestation and it's only by Allah's mercy that I wasn't raped.
At the end of the day, they went with my bag, money, phone and charger.
After this experience, someone helped me write a petition to the commissioner of police which I went to submit myself and was so glad when it approved. But unfortunately, that was all that was done, no further action was taken. I kept going back there for investigation but it
wasn't fruitful. One woman had initially asked for 20k to start with the investigation which I told her I don't have but it was later they directed me to their CSP who now said and I quote " Why you go dey your bag with Sars official wey get gun? shebi na Taekwondo abi.
Better thank God say dem no kill you, what if na your dead body dey here now? would you be able to report any case?"
He also said that we youths of nowadays are so stubborn that how will a lady like me be dragging my property with Sars that has a gun.

That was
the final point I gave up cos the money I spent on transportation going there, doing photocopy and print out later amounted to more that the money they stole from me initially.

It was so painful cos the money was actually for my international passport as there was a Taekwondo
championship I was preparing to go for in Morroco. This competition was an opportunity which I was glad about as I would be representing my beloved country Nigeria. (What an irony, representing a country that doesn't even care about the welfare of its citizens).
That's how I ended up losing that opportunity because of the inhumanity and recklessness of SARS.

Once again, my name is Halima, and I hope they
