Thread alert, I have some suggestions for @BJP4TamilNadu for 2021. DMK is raking up unimportant issues as usual.

1. There’s a huge shortage of nurses all over India & the world. Nursing can be a way for people to go abroad & earn us remittance ₹₹₹. 1/n

Environmental sciences are an important sector that will fuel growth. We should skill TN youth in this field AND initiate projects with private R&D firms and startups to salvage the environment. This will help us get experience, credibility & create specialised jobs. 2/n

Low-cost housing, under the “Housing for all” scheme. Private players (not PWD) should be asked to build GFRG structures or Pre-cast modular homes & maximise FSI to build homes < ₹10 lakhs in Chennai and < ₹5 lakhs in other cities. We should partner with IIT-M to do this. 3/n

Legal Process Outsourcing has the potential to create plenty of jobs, by way of paralegal work. The global LPO industry will reach $35.9 billion by 2025. Its a shame if we don’t go after this aggressively. Unemployed graduates can do a diploma course to get into this. 4/n

What gives people a feeling that their government is functioning? Cleanliness, traffic cops that don’t ask for bribes, decent roads, ease of doing business & safety.

Be it DMK or ADMK, goons collect “protection money” from businesses big, small & everything in between. 5/n

Even swanky offices in OMR aren’t exempt from this. Why isn’t BJP talking about this? This is how the DMK/ADMK party cadre collect money & everyone gets a cut. Talk about this openly, vociferously. This must end. 6/n

The biggest impediment is ease of doing business is the expectation of bribes to provide licenses/clearances & this collection of “maamool”. Please talk about it, @BJP4TamilNadu.

Next, “Swachh Bharat”. There’s a helpline, but only for urban areas. What about panchayats? 7/n

Panchayat presidents siphon off money & let garbage pile on the streets. Talk about this, @BJP4TamilNadu. Privatise garbage collection, cut off the panchayats. Provide a portal for citizens to log complaints & monitor the status of their complaints. Manage by metrics. 8/n

Talk about the dirt & garbage on the roads, @BJP4TamilNadu. Why are corporations hiring sweepers, when we should be buying more street cleaning vehicles? We are in 2020, not 1980. Spic & span roads will make people believe in their government & in Swachh Bharat. 9/n

Dredging/desilting of water bodies happen only on paper, @BJP4TamilNadu. The amount is siphoned off by the government.

Privatise dredging. Sell the silt (rich soil, ask farmers), instead of throwing it away on the streets. Publish the schedule, make the process transparent. 10/n

Ask people why the government hasn’t controlled vector-borne diseases, @BJP4TamilNadu. Why isn’t TN able to control mosquitoes? Innovative, cheap methods to destroy eggs must be used - such as “Ovillanta” in Guatemala. Fogging & removing stagnant water aren’t enough. 11/n

Guatemala is a small country. Why can’t we be half as innovative as them, @BJP4TamilNadu?

How do we improve rural education? Using EduTech. How do we provide quality healthcare in villages? Remote clinics.

I hope @Murugan_TNBJP and @annamalai_k will do what the previous TN BJP leadership teams didn’t do.

Talk to voters about these & other real issues. Let them see thru the emptiness & thievery of DMK & ADMK. Fin. N/n
